I love what Houdini provides, a powerful sandbox for planned solutions. The drawback of this openness is many times the lack of a standard work-flows for basic things. Like Maya ends up being up to the user to Python script them. For now, I’ve just been using it for work for asset management but definitely can foresee some highly reusable scripts can be done to improve daily productivity.
